Attic Renovation - Update 2

I took off a couple days of work to hang the drywall and play “gopher” with my brother-in-law and father-in-law, The Experts as they’d call themselves. So far we’ve used 42 sheets of drywall and will probably need 4 more. I’m still under my self-imposed budget though, so we’re still good!

So here’s some pictures to show you how far we’ve come. The next update will probably be when it’s painted, and the next one after that will be carpet.

I didn’t pay for the beer, so that wasn’t part of my budget. Drywall at $5.85/sheet sure does fucking add up though. Add on screws at about $25 for a 5lb box, A LOT of 8ft long wood slats for the ceiling (between the drywall and beams) at $1/piece, and you can see how it adds up. It’s worth it though.

Screwed is always better than nailed! :)

Don’t get plastered.

Sherwin Williams sells a drywall paint. It goes on purple and turns white to indicate it is dry, and the second coat can be done. It does not work.
Dark purple becomes light lavender, when you were after white. Stay away from purple….unless that is what you are after when all is done. Lookin good.

Bob Vila is starting to sweat as word at Ron’s spreads online.
